why does it take so long for skydemon to alert the user to chart updates? Quite often halfway through planning a route a chart update alert comes up. Why doesn't it come up as soon as the app is opened?

Because we don't want every SkyDemon app out there immediately checking for updates whenever it's opened. Often a user simply wishes to enter Go Flying mode. So we wait a couple of minutes.

I still find it annoying.
